Half Moon Bay, Calif – Have you ever wondered how big a pumpkin could get? At the 45th World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off in California, a pumpkin weighed in at 2,170 pounds. The owner of this pumpkin is Steve Daletas from New Hampshire and owes the success of winning to “one special seed” and a lot of sun.
This was the second heaviest pumpkin ever to be documented in this competition and in the whole United States. Americas world record is held by a pumpkin that weighed in at over 2,500 pounds and the world record is just over 2,600 pounds
