(UTVS) St. Cloud State University is hosting a free COVID-19 saliva test for all students, faculty, and staff from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow November 18th in the Atwood Memorial Ballroom.

Participants who take the test will be emailed their results within 48-72 hours.

To register for the event, use the Huskies Connect Page located here. Walk-ins will not be turned away.

In an email sent out to students, testing organizers of the event are also requesting volunteers to help provide direction to participants.

Safety measures will be in place for volunteers as they will receive a disposable face mask, face shield, and gloves. Social distancing measures will also be in place.

If participants are unable to make the testing event tomorrow, a take-home testing kit can be picked up at multiple campus locations beginning at 4 p.m. November 18th through Friday, November 20th.

A Zoom session with a health care provider is required to help self-administer the test.

Those locations include the Atwood Information Desk, Husky Tech located at the Miller Center, and the Administrative Services Information Desk.

The Minnesota Department of Health is urging college-age students to take a COVID-19 test before holiday travel.

On Tuesday the MDH reported 5,945 additional cases of COVID-19 and 26 additional deaths.

Those numbers are expected to rise as many will be traveling for the Thanksgiving holiday.
