President Biden Commits to Fossil Fuel Reductions at Global Summit

In a meeting with world leaders Thursday President Biden reaffirmed one of his campaign promises to take steps to reduce the effect of global warming produced by the use of fossil fuels in the United States.

Biden’s new commitment is to cut fossil fuel emissions up to 52% by 2030, he would accomplish this goal by investing in green energy technologies including a re-work of the national power grid to maximize it’s efficiency.

Japan also announced a new target of reductions of 46%, Canada, United Kingdom and the European Union also announced new commitments.

With the summit’s new targets from countries across the world global leaders say they have enough reduction of fossil fuels to keep the earth’s climate from warming more than 2.7 degrees Fahrenheit.
