Following the conviction of Derek Chauvin, AG Merrick Garland, of The United States Department of Justice, announced that they will launch an investigation into Minneapolis Police Department. This announcement comes just one day after Chauvin was convicted. Garland says they are wanting to address the systematic failure. They will be talking to officers about their training and support.
