High school hockey heats up

After the St. Cloud High School boys hockey team lost their latest playoff game 8-2 on Saturday against Moorhead, the only local team left with a chance at the state tournament is the St. Cloud Crusaders.

The Crusaders won their semifinal game 5-1 against River Lakes on Saturday at the Municipal Athletic Complex. The season finale for the Crusaders in section 6A will be this Thursday against the Alexandria Cardinals. The winner of the game will be headed to the state championship and will receive the class 6A title.

The reigning state-champion St. Cloud Cathedral will faceoff against the #2 ranked Alexandria Cardinals at the MAC, with puckdrop slated for 7pm.
