A judge in Minnesota has found a man guilty in the 1983 killing of a teenager in Minneapolis.

Judge Tamara Garcia filed her verdict Wednesday and plans to follow up with written findings. Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman says 64-year-old Darrell Rea has been convicted of second-degree murder for the death of 17-year-old Laurie Mesedahl.

According to police, Mesedahl was raped, strangled, and driven to a train yard and beaten to death.
