Minnesota has reelected the state party chairwoman. Jennifer Carnahan. The executive director of the Minnesota GOP, Kevin Poindexter, said that Carnahan was chosen in a 345 seat vote that happened in Hutchinson, Minnesota on Saturday. The runner is elected by winning fifty percent of votes in order to win the party election. Poindexter added that Carnahan won on the first ballot. Carnahan has direct ties to the national Republican party. She announced her run for reelection earlier this year. She has promised President Donald Trump that ten of Minnesota’s electoral votes would be in favor of Trump come the 2020 election. This comes in response of Minnesota Republicans losing every state-wide race for the Minnesota House in 2018.
