Matthew Hurt is Minnesota’s highest ranked basketball recruit of the 2019 recruiting class, and he made his official college decision on Saturday April 19th. The power forward from John Marshall High School in Rochester, Minnesota has committed to the University of Duke Blue Devils. Hurt will join a Blue Devil squad that is most likely to return guard Tre Jones. Jones is an Apple Valley native and brother of Minnesota Timberwolves guard Tyus Jones. Hurt averaged a double-double with 33.9 points and 15 rebounds per game. To add to those already astonishing stats, Hurt averaged 3.6 assists and 3.9 steals per game. For Duke, this is the third straight year that they have gotten the top-ranked recruit out of the state of Minnesota (2018: Tre Jones; 2017: Gary Trent Jr.).
