A Indianapolis company is recalling its products after being tied to a salmonella outbreak. Caito Foods LLC is recalling all of their pre-cut melon products that include: Watermelon, Cantaloupe, and Honeydew. There are currently sixteen states that have been affected by this outbreak, one of which includes Minnesota. Some of the stores that sell Caito melon products include: Target, Wal-Mart, Whole Foods, and Trader Joe’s. The U.S Food and Drug Administration is advising consumers to stay away from purchasing any of these company’s melons and getting rid of any that might have been purchased. Stores are also being urged to remove those products from their shelves to contain the salmonella outbreak. There have been 23 total people that have been hospitalized along with 70 others that have been sickened. No one deaths have yet been recorded.
