MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (UTVS) – A new report says that TCF bank made over $620,000 in card fees from University of Minnesota students at the twin cities and Duluth campuses. A study from the U.S. Public Interest Research Group says that 44% of the University students have TCF bank accounts. The consumer advocacy group’s higher education campaign director said that Minnesota students pay an average of 22 dollars I bank fees annually. The amounts this year ranged from just a few dollars to hundreds of dollars. The school has had a marketing agreement with TCF since 2003. TCF paid the school 1.6 million dollars to push their bank cards on campus.
