The city of Moorhead is looking for volunteers to fill sandbags in anticipation of the Red River spring flood.
The National Weather Service says that the Red River has a 10 percent chance of reaching record flood levels. In 2009, the Red River reached 41 feet. Moorhead had to use over 2 million sandbags that year.
Spring flooding is a concern around the state. Gov. Tim Walz was in Hastings Saturday to help locals fill sandbags. The Mississippi River at Hastings is expected to rise to major flood stage this week.
