Opioid Bill

Yesterday a new bill has been passed to combat the opioid crisis in the Minnesota House.

The bill will support many strategies to support prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery. Data from the Minnesota Health Department shows that in 2017 nearly 800 people took their own lives and over half of those deaths were from opioid overdoses.

The state has a set goal to reducing suicides by 10 percent in 2020 and 20 percent in 2025.
