The Trial of El Chapo

A former member of the Sinaloa Cartel in Mexico, is testifying on behalf of the United States government in New York for the notorious drug lord El Chapo.

Jesus Zambada details instances explaining how the cartel paid bribes to high ranking officials and authorities to protect its massive drug operations. Zambada went as far as to say Guzman directed him to give $100,000 and a hug to a general.

On Wednesday, Zambada was able to identify Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman as one of the most powerful drug traffickers in Mexico. Describing how the cartel made massive profits by smuggling immense amounts of cocaine in the U.S.

Defense lawyers say Guzman is innocent and being framed.
