Minnesota Lawmaker Hosts House Floor Protest

Minnesota State Representative Erin Maye Quade is hosting a 24 hour sit-in on the House floor to protest the lack of gun laws enacted this year. State Representative Maye Quade has been joined by several other Democrats and one Republican to discuss Minnesota incidents of gun violence resulting in death. The protesters are hoping to push for expanded background checks and a law which would allow family to temporarily restrict gun access of another family member. This assembly follows Friday’s shooting at a Florida high school which raised concern over gun laws.
