A Twin Cities woman has been convicted of third-degree murder after selling fentanyl to a St. Cloud man who overdosed on the drug and died in April 2016. Beverly Burrell, 32, was also convicted of a controlled substance crime by Sherburne County District Court Judge Walter Kaminsky on Monday April 23rd. Burrell was tried over two days in February after waiving her right to a jury trial, instead electing for a court trial in front of Judge Kaminsky. Burrell’s sentencing has been scheduled for June 14th, where more time will likely be added to her eight year sentence she is currently serving at the Minnesota Correction Facility in Shakopee for similar crimes in Hennepin County.
