(ST. CLOUD) UTVS – St. Cloud Federal Credit Union along with Sartell high school are being honored for their contributions to the community. Both were awarded the Simon Hellermann Philanthropy award which was established in 1999 as a tribute to Minnesota credit union philanthropist, Simon Hellermann. The award is given to recognize an outstanding contribution to a community and promotion of credit union philanthropy. SCFCU and Sartell H.S. were awarded after their actions after partnering with a worldwide organization that provides loans to people in poverty known as the KIVA Program, which helped them offer financial education curriculum to all ninth grade history students at Sartell High School. Dave Driste and Roy Snyder work closely with students at Sartell Highschool to grow their [students] financial education and knowledge and also help them gather research and present findings to eventually connect with others worldwide. Driste and Snyder played a major role in helping this mission succeed.
