Drops in Teenage Drinking

Teen drinking rates in Minnesota have continued to drop over the years, according to new data from the Minnesota Department of Health. The Data shows that students who feel comfortable consulting their parents about issues or problems are less likely to consume alcohol. Students reporting experiences of trauma caused by abuse are more likely to have consumed alcohol before the age of 14. Minnesota Commissioner of health Jan Malcolm, believes it is important for students to know the majority don’t drink, because the public may believe otherwise.
