On Monday, April 2nd, a Benton County Police Sergeant pulled over Joseph Elwin Depa for a broken tail-light on his green sedan. After approaching the car, the officer recognized one of the passengers as Lisa Robin Platz, who had an outstanding felony warrant. While speaking to the driver, officers became suspicious that there may be drugs in the vehicle. With assistance from Sauk Rapids and Stearns County Police, almost 30 grams of methamphetamine and paraphernalia were retrieved from the vehicle and Depa’s person. Depa was arrested and charged with a controlled substance crime and driving while under the influence. Platz was arrested in her felony warrant.
