House Republicans are pushing for more funding on school security. They want to raise $50 million to be used for safety improvements in schools. The improvements would include security cameras, secure entrances, school resource officers, and bullet proof glass.

Previously this year, Governor Mark Dayton called for $21 million to be used for school security and counselors in Minnesota schools.

Since the mass shooting in a Florida high school, school safety is back on everyone’s mind.
