Governor Dayton proposes giving all Minnesotans the option to go through MinnesotaCare for their health insurance. Currently, MinnesotaCare is only available for qualified individuals and families. Giving all Minnesotans access to MinnesotaCare will provide more options for purchasing health care. If the proposal is approved Minnesota tax payers will not be affected, as the program would be funded by the premiums of the customers. Dayton proposes the program after a rise by about 46 percent of uninsured people in 2017.
