Multiple United States intelligence officials have now said that there is signs of Russian attempts to meddle in the upcoming midterm American elections. In a Senate intelligence hearing Tuesday CIA Director Mike Pompeo, the Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats, and the Director of the NSA Admiral Mike Rogers agreed that there was reason to believe that Moscow has an interest in influencing the elections. None of the officials discussed the exact nature of the Russian activity except that it related to information warfare. A closed door hearing will be held for the Senate intelligence committee where more information can be shared. State and local governments will also be briefed on the nature of the efforts while the U.S. employs efforts to counteract any meddling.
