Preparations for St. Mary’s concert taking place

ST. CLOUD, Minnesota – For the past two and a half months, choir students at St. Cloud State have been preparing for their St. Mary’s choir concert. The concert will take place at St. Mary’s Church in St. Cloud at 2 pm on Nov. 12th.

The concert features the different choir groups, including: men’s choir, women’s choir, chamber ensemble, and concert choir. They were first introduced to the music for the concert on the first day of the semester, and every day since has been a part of the preparation for what many of these students consider their favorite concert of the year.

Not only is the music incredible, but the space in which it is performed really adds to the overall experience. According to Logan Thompson, Concert Choir Vice President, “the space is beautiful and the singers are beautiful and when you combine that together you get a truly magical experience”.

All this time spent preparing for this concert has brought these students closer than ever.

“Honestly this choir is like a really big family. We’re all super close and there’s really nobody in the choir you can’t call your friend” said Amber Pedersen, Choir Creator.

This family-like atmosphere was evident at their concert rehearsal, as was all the time spent rehearsing. It’s no wonder these students are looking forward to putting on this performance.

If you are interested in attending the concert, tickets can be bought at the door for $10 for adults and $5 for students.
