Wednesday October 25th was proclaimed “Wellstone Remembrance Day” by Governor Mark Dayton. The day is to honor late U.S. Senator Paul Wellstone who lost his life in a plane crash 15 years ago. The Governor’s proclamation highlights the dedication to the people of Minnesota by Senator Wellstone. “Paul was an extraordinary political leader. He truly believed, and practiced, ‘Politics of the people, by the people, and for the people.’ He worked passionately for the best interests of Minnesotans in Washington D.C.,” said Governor Dayton. “In today’s divisive political climate, let us remember his conviction, as well as his civility, in working tirelessly for the betterment of others.” The plane crash also took the lives of his wife, daughter and five others.
