Julian Assange, founder of Wikileaks, has been sentenced by British judge to 50 weeks in prison for jumping bail in 2012.  Judge Deborah Taylor said Assange merited the near maximum sentence because of the seriousness of his crime.  Supporters of Assange chanted “shame on you” at the judge as Assange was led away.

The Mid-American Business Conditions Index dropped to 55.9 last month form 58.2 in March. The survey indexes range from zero to 100. Any score over 50 suggests growth. An ambulance driver has been sentenced to probation for a crash that killed her co-worker in Hennepin County. 28-year-old Susanna Battig pleaded guilty to careless driving in an October 2017 crash that killed Marina Desteno Challeen.
