United Nations and Sexual Violence

The United Nations security council approved a German-drafted resolution for combating sexual violence in times of conflict today. The vote for the resolution was 13-0 and both Russia and China submitted drafts against it. The resolution expresses the council’s concern at “the slow progress” in confronting and removing sexual violence in conflicts around the world.
